This is "An estimate of the value of Machinery, Tools and Implements of Trade, Raw Material, & c., now on hand in the Kentucky Penitentiary," dated March 1, 1855. The document lists tools and other items such as a steam engine, shafts, fly wheels, boilers, an iron lathe, fourteen hemp looms, carpenters' benches, and wheelbarrows. Other items mentioned include bedding for the cells, two book cases, one "eight barrel pistol," two shotguns, and beds and clothing in the female prison. Pages six, ten, and fourteen bear notes by Zeb Ward, keeper of the penitentiary, accepting responsibility for the items and accepting their valuation.
